Accidents during shunting often happen at low speed on company premises and can usually be avoided by taking the necessary steps
Usually there would be someone available at the workplace to help guide the driver, other vehicles are not normally involved in shunting accidents, but the driver may be on unfamilliar premises and at the end of his/her shift and in a hurry!
Our courses will cover the safety rules that need to be adhered to in various situations when shunting especially when the rear view is restricted.
We can offer advice to anyone helping to guide drivers through these manoeuvres, the course will cover drivers responsibilities on the public highway, and will take them through hand signals, position, accident prevention and personal safety.
The instruction can take place at company premises with the safety and guidance given, followed by a practical demonstartion.
One of our experienced instructors will observe and advise each candidate on there shunting performance and will assess them.
